Active-Youth Education and Cultural Research Association is a non-profit / non-governmental youth organization founded in İstanbul, Turkey in 2011 after a group of university students from different backgrounds decided to unite their to contribute to the social and personal development of local youth. EYERA has grown over hundreds of members involved in local and international youth activities since its establishment. We aim to support the active involvement of young people in various areas of public life; to promote personal development and democratic citizenship, volunteering and youth mobility; sport and healthy lifestyle; to support the development of the abilities and potential of young people from different social and ethnic groups, and young people with disabilities through different methods, such as sport, music, theatre, dance, painting and coding. In order to realize our objectives, we cooperate with families, local authorities, primary schools, high schools and universities and we develop projects with them. Besides, we also support the active involvement of them to promote personal development and democratic citizenship, volunteering and youth mobility; sport and healthy lifestyle; to support the development of the abilities and potential of young people from different social and ethnic groups, and young people with disabilities. To realize that, EYERA conducts both international and domestic projects. EYERA works on local issues. Under the roof of EYERA, volunteer university students provide academic mentorship to youngsters such as help to their lessons especially for high school exam and university entrance exam. Besides, EYERA gives algorithm and coding courses to students from kindergarden to highschool especially about Scratch and Ardunio and technology integration courses to teachers such as Multimedia Design, Educational Games Design and WEB 2.0 tools. EYERA also publishes a monthly fanzine which involves several subjects namely health, democracy and involvement, technology and some free topics written by volunteer writers who are active in the association. EYERA is also a sender and a host organization for youngsters to help them to improve their competences; become aware of socially relevant topics/thematic areas, discover new cultures, habits and life-styles, strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, friendship and so on. In aspect of international level, we have sent hundreds of young people to the projects all around the Europe. Besides, we hosted 4 projects in Turkey about, health-healthy life-style, entrepreneurship, rural development, culture, involvement and human rights in Turkey. EYERA aims at: – Fostering Euro-Mediterranean cooperation by specialized projects and policy formulations; – Increasing civil society’s role in youth policy development and in implementation in the European and Mediterranean countries; – Contributing to personal development of youngsters; – Raising awareness on respect, empathy and tolerance between youngsters; – Promoting intercultural dialogue as a tool for solving common issues and conflicts; – Focusing on issues related to human rights and acceptance of personal limitations; – Emphasizing social cohesion and its role in developing multicultural communities. Our idea is to develop our city youth community, to grow young persons as strong personalities with good social and entrepreneurship skills and to have good experience, comfort and fun from this process. |

Mr. Günay is a trainer and a teacher as well as a programmer. Has been graduated from Boğaziçi University 2012. During his education period, he has been head of EREC (one of the biggest student communities in Boğaziçi University) for 2 years and worked in youth field under the roof of Erasmus+ Program. Since on, he continued work in the youth field with a group of volunteers and held many projects in Turkey and Europe. Developing Instructional Games for Android and IOS platforms.
